Newport Police observe Client’s vehicle traveling the wrong way on a one-way street and pull the vehicle over. Upon approaching the driver’s side window, police immediately detect a strong odor of alcohol, mumbled and confused speech and an inability to locate any of the requested paperwork. Client admitted to having “maybe 4 or 5” drinks when asked by the police. Upon arrival back at the station, Client agreed to take the Breathalyzer test with readings of .259 and .227.
